Best T-Shirt of the Week #3

There are 10 types of people in the world:
Those who understand binary
and those who don't
Your Business Blogger likes to put labels on people and processes. Life is easier when you can put a behavior -- and its owner-- in a box.

On a recent episode of Mad Men, the hero is at a pot party with 1960'ish hippies. He's been drinking but not stoned. The police are outside their door dealing with another set of lawbreakers.

And the hero decides to leave. "But you can't leave," says one of the pot-heads, "the cops are out there..."

"You can't leave," says our hero, "But I can." Whereupon, the hero confidently walks out the door, and nods at the police as he approaches.

The hero was dressed in his Madison Avenue uniform: An Organization Man suit and tie.

The police nod back and let him pass.

It's called profiling.

There are two kinds of people in the world:

Those that understand this, and

Those that don't.

Thank you (foot)notes:

We first saw this T-Shirt at Mr. Notebook in Austin, Texas in our Westward Ho! trip. I immediately liked the geek wearing the shirt. The techie fixed my computer, gave me instructions, and answered my many stupid questions. My profiling, in this case, worked.

Best Bumper Sticker This Week #2

September 05, 2007 | By Jack Yoest

"Look!" I shout to Charmaine, "Look-it! A Republican! In Arlington!"

"In this neighborhood?" says Charmaine, ever the cynic.

"Yes, over there -- the bumper sticker..." I'm pointing.

It says,

Republicans for Voldemort

"Is...whats-his-name, Voldemort running local?" Your Business Blogger cares about elections.

"Not likely. He's a bad guy in Harry Potter," Charmaine says. "I don't think they're conservatives -- they're democrats."

"Who?" I wonder. "Harry Potter or our neighbors?"

"Hard to tell." says Charmaine.

"Does that mean we can't vote for him?" I'm disappointed. I like mean managers.

"It would be a fair race: We'd get Voldemort -- they get Hillary..."

This election's gonna be scary.
